About the Role

We are excited to announce an opportunity for a Placement Student - Supply Chain (Remote) at Cummins. This role is designed for enthusiastic students eager to develop their skills in supply chain management while working remotely. You will be part of a team that specializes in Customer Order Management for our Power Generation & Engine business segment.

What You'll Do

  • Coordinate the acceptance of finished generator sets from suppliers, ensuring readiness and collection dates are met.
  • Maintain daily communication with suppliers to confirm production status and resolve any missing information.
  • Update and manage order data in Movex/SAP, including delivery dates, serial numbers, and logistics details.
  • Verify the accuracy and completeness of supplier documentation, including test reports and packing lists.
  • Monitor order progress, escalate delays, and support the COM WG representative for the Low KVA portfolio.
  • Support logistics activities by validating shipping data and coordinating with warehouse and transport teams.
  • Prepare operational reports and ensure data accuracy in line with ISO 9001 quality standards.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, focusing on process optimization and documentation.

Requirements

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to learn operational and supply chain processes.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders.
  • English language proficiency (minimum B1/B2).
  • Basic MS Office skills (Excel, Outlook).
  • ERP experience (SAP/Movex) is an advantage but not required.

Nice to Have

  • Previous internship experience in supply chain or operations.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality standards.
  • Knowledge of logistics and inventory management.
