Construction Project Commissioning Manager - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

As a Construction Project Commissioning Manager in a remote capacity, you will be pivotal in delivering a hyperscale data center project. This role involves direct accountability for project quality and commissioning, ensuring all deliverables are completed on time. You will be part of the Construction Management function, responsible for overseeing all aspects of commissioning and quality control at the site where you are assigned. This includes expansions, modifications, retrofits, and new technology-driven projects!

What You’ll Do

  • Manage site-based quality control and assurance programs, ensuring the General Contractor (GC) executes effectively.
  • Lead the commissioning program and integrate with Google’s Operations team to achieve program goals.
  • Create, update, and maintain project-specific quality control reports and submittal logs.
  • Review shop drawings and submittals for compliance with project specifications.
  • Chair weekly quality control meetings with site superintendents and QC managers to address BIM 360 QC issues.
  • Provide daily quality control reports that document construction activities and address non-conformances.
  • Conduct preparatory, initial, and follow-up meetings to establish standards of care for each definable feature of work.
  • Verify that all materials received conform to approved submittals and conduct periodic follow-up inspections.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred with 8-10 years of relevant experience in construction project management.
  • Innovative mindset to develop methods that exceed existing solutions.
  • Ability to solve unique problems using standard and innovative solutions.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Expert organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive mindset.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with hyperscale data centers or similar large-scale projects.
  • Familiarity with BIM 360 and other project management software.
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with diverse teams.
