About the Role

We are seeking a Systems Security Engineering Manager to join our team at Collins Aerospace. This role is pivotal in ensuring the security of our systems and products, especially in the aerospace and defense sectors. As a Systems Security Engineering Manager remote, you will lead a talented team of engineers while overseeing critical cybersecurity initiatives. You will be responsible for managing cybersecurity efforts across the system development lifecycle, ensuring compliance with various security standards and frameworks.

What You'll Do

  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in cybersecurity, guiding complex security requirements with Government Customers and Chief Engineers.
  • Lead high-priority efforts across the Product Cybersecurity organization, making impactful technical decisions that influence security architectures.
  • Manage a small team of system security engineers, providing mentorship and technical guidance.
  • Oversee the execution of vulnerability analysis, requirements assessment, and documentation for critical certifications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver secure and resilient systems, ensuring compliance with NSA Type 1 and Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in Systems Engineering, with a strong focus on securing embedded hardware, firmware, and software architectures.
  • Proven experience navigating the NSA Type 1 certification process and Risk Management Framework (RMF) lifecycle.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage program technical work packages, budgets, and schedules through Earned Value Management (EVM).
  • Strong technical writing and analysis skills, including requirement allocation and decomposition.
  • Active and transferable SECRET clearance is required prior to start date.

Nice to Have

  • Knowledge of Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA) and Cyber Resiliency strategies.
  • Familiarity with CMMC Level 3 security efforts and implementations.
  • Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools like MATLAB or Simulink.
