Senior Electrical Engineering Pod Lead - Remote Position
About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineering Pod Lead to join our dynamic team in a fully remote capacity. This role is a contractor assignment for 5 months, offering a competitive hourly rate of $11–$30. As a Senior Electrical Engineering Pod Lead, you will lead and manage a pod of 4–8 Engineering Design Specialists, ensuring the successful delivery of projects while maintaining high standards of quality and innovation.
What You'll Do
- Lead and manage a pod of Engineering Design Specialists by assigning tasks, reviewing deliverables, and mentoring on problem design, simulation rigor, and documentation.
- Act as the main point of contact with AI research teams to translate model feedback into refinements, run regular syncs, track progress, and report updates and risks.
- Oversee and approve pod outputs and maintain reproducible Docker-based simulation environments.
- Support cloud infrastructure for simulation and grading workflows.
- Develop and review Python automation and validation workflows.
- Resolve dependency, versioning, and reproducibility issues proactively.
- Design high-difficulty electrical engineering problems within a chosen subdomain.
- Set quality benchmarks and design standards for the pod through individual contributions.
Requirements
- Master’s degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Strong hands-on electrical engineering design experience with end-to-end ownership.
- Strong experience in a technical lead, senior engineer, or team coordination role.
- Strong proficiency in Python for scripting, automation, and simulation workflows.
- Hands-on experience with Docker (building images, writing Dockerfiles, managing environments).
- Familiarity with at least one cloud platform (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- Experience with open-source EE simulation tools (e.g., ngspice, PySpice, Qucs, OpenEMS, scikit-rf, or similar).
- Deep expertise in at least one EE subdomain (Analog/Mixed-Signal, Power Electronics, RF/Microwave, Digital Systems, or Embedded Systems).
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
- Ability to work independently and manage a distributed team.
Nice to Have
- Experience with AI and machine learning applications in electrical engineering.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
- Previous experience in remote team management.
