Staff Security Engineer - Cloud Security Focus

About the Role

We are looking for a Staff Security Engineer to join our team at Bloomreach. This remote position offers you the opportunity to work on cutting-edge security solutions for our AI-driven platform. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the security of our cloud infrastructure, working with AWS and GCP, and leading initiatives to protect our data and systems.

What You'll Do

• Design and implement security controls for cloud infrastructure, focusing on AWS and GCP.
• Monitor and maintain SIEM systems, ensuring effective detection and response to security incidents.
• Identify and remediate vulnerabilities in infrastructure and web applications.
• Lead incident triage and engage with external researchers for vulnerability disclosures.
• Mentor junior engineers, providing guidance and support in their professional development.
• Develop and document security standards, playbooks, and runbooks to enhance organizational security posture.
• Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure security best practices are integrated into all projects.
• Drive continuous improvement of security processes and tools through automation and scripting.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in security engineering, with a focus on cloud security.
• Proficiency in AWS and GCP security best practices and architecture.
• Experience with SIEM tools and detection engineering.
• Strong knowledge of vulnerability management and incident response processes.
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and secure CI/CD pipelines.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
• Certifications such as AWS Certified Security, Google Professional Cloud Security Engineer, or CISSP are highly desirable.

Nice to Have

• Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Go, or Bash.
• Familiarity with security frameworks like CIS or NIST.
• Previous experience in mentoring or leading teams.
