Senior Civil Designer - Remote Opportunity in Australia

About the Role

We are excited to offer a Senior Civil Designer remote position with the Department of Transport and Main Roads. This role provides an excellent opportunity to achieve a work/life balance while contributing to the development and delivery of vital transport infrastructure projects in Australia.

What You'll Do

• Supervise the development of transport infrastructure design models throughout the planning, concept, and implementation phases.
• Manage key components of the planning and design function for transport infrastructure projects, ensuring successful completion within time, quality, cost, and stakeholder expectations.
• Apply innovation and expert advice to solve problems related to planning and design for transport infrastructure projects.
• Ensure adherence to relevant policies, standards, guidelines, and legislation in planning and design principles.
• Provide mentoring and guidance to the local design team in the use of 12D Model for Design and AutoCAD software.
• Assist with the management and review of external design consultancies.
• Provide expert support and advice to stakeholders on the planning and design process.
• Develop effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to address needs and expectations.

Requirements

• A minimum of a three-year, Sydney Accord accredited engineering degree such as a Bachelor of Engineering Technology (Civil) or recognized equivalence.
• A current Class ‘C' Drivers Licence.
• High proficiency with design software packages such as AutoCAD and 12d Model.
• Experience in managing transport infrastructure projects.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to provide expert advice.

Nice to Have

• Experience in mentoring junior team members.
• Familiarity with the Queensland Transport and Roads Investment Program (QTRIP).
