Senior Safety Manager - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Safety Manager to join our team at Bouten Construction Company. This role offers a unique opportunity to lead safety initiatives remotely while contributing to our mission of building a proactive safety culture. As a Senior Safety Manager, you will be instrumental in developing and implementing safety programs that not only comply with regulations but also enhance our operational effectiveness.

What You'll Do

• Develop and execute company-wide strategic safety objectives aligned with business goals.
• Lead the implementation of safety strategies, ensuring cross-functional collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Manage the safety department budget, optimizing resource utilization to meet annual targets.
• Build and lead a high-performing safety team, ensuring alignment with departmental needs and talent management standards.
• Interpret and apply OSHA and WISHA regulations, ensuring compliance across all construction and safety practices.
• Oversee regular jobsite inspections, ensuring safety oversight and timely corrective actions.
• Lead the safety training program, focusing on both field-based and classroom training for new employees.
• Manage claims related to workers’ compensation and collaborate with medical providers for optimal recovery outcomes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Occupational Health, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of five (5) years of progressive safety experience in the construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of safety and environmental principles, regulations, and best practices.
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore) and standard business software (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint).
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset.

Nice to Have

• Experience in commercial construction.
• Certifications in safety management (e.g., CSP, CHST).
• Familiarity with innovative safety solutions and risk reduction strategies.
