About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to join our team at Raytheon, where you will play a crucial role in developing cutting-edge defense technology. This Senior Embedded Software Engineer remote position offers an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of projects, from small components to large legacy systems, all while contributing to national security.

What You'll Do

• Develop and integrate embedded real-time software in a Quick Response Capability (QRC) environment.
• Architect, design, implement, test, and debug software components while ensuring high quality and user satisfaction.
• Collaborate with cross-discipline teams to define and improve product concepts and implementation.
• Participate in internal reviews of software components and systems.
• Mentor and coach less experienced staff, fostering a collaborative learning environment.
• Occasionally travel for business-related purposes as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with a minimum of 5 years of relevant software experience.
• Proficiency in developing real-time software applications using C++ and familiarity with scripting languages such as Python, Shell, or Perl.
• Experience with RHEL OS and an active U.S. government issued Secret security clearance.
• Ability to navigate complex systems and established code bases effectively.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum, and DevSecOps practices.

Nice to Have

• Active Top Secret security clearance.
• Experience with Windows OS, VM/container technologies, and reverse engineering.
• Knowledge of continuous integration and delivery processes, including automated testing and code analysis.
