Senior Data Infrastructure Engineer - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We're hiring a Senior Data Infrastructure Engineer to join our innovative team at Anthropic. This Senior Data Infrastructure Engineer remote position is an exciting opportunity to work on building reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. As part of our mission, you will help create data infrastructure that is secure, privacy-respecting, and scalable, enabling data-driven decisions across the organization.

What You'll Do

• Design and implement robust access control systems ensuring only authorized users can access sensitive data.
• Build and maintain data pipelines and warehouses that power business-critical reporting.
• Architect disaster recovery, backup, and replication systems for petabyte-scale data.
• Scale data processing infrastructure using technologies like BigQuery, BigTable, Airflow, dbt, and Spark.
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to optimize query performance and manage costs.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in a Software Engineer role, specifically in building data infrastructure and storage systems.
• 3+ years of experience leading large-scale, complex projects or teams as an engineer or tech lead.
• Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Go, or Java.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform and cloud platforms such as GCP or AWS.
• Excellent collaboration skills to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to Have

• Experience with security and compliance requirements like ITGC, GDPR, and financial controls.
• Background in data warehousing, ETL/ELT pipelines, or analytics infrastructure.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes, containerization, and cloud-native architectures.
