Sales & Application Engineer - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are seeking a talented Sales & Application Engineer to join our team at SPX Technologies. This is a unique opportunity to work remotely while providing technical expertise in support of new cooling tower sales. As a Sales & Application Engineer (remote), you will review specifications, vet RFQs, and determine the best-fit solutions for our clients.

What You'll Do

• Review RFQs, specifications, and consultant drawings to ensure product compatibility and compliance.
• Perform technical selections and system designs using SPX tools/software.
• Recommend optimal product configurations and solutions to meet customer requirements.
• Provide technical support and training to consultants, contractors, and internal sales colleagues.
• Prepare and deliver technical submittals, proposals, and compliance documents.
• Act as a technical point of contact for consultants and end users, discussing system design considerations such as thermodynamics and water treatment.
• Support the sales team with proposal development, quotations, and customer presentations.
• Participate in customer meetings to present technical solutions in a commercially compelling way.

Requirements

• Experience in HVAC, cooling towers, or process cooling systems (applications, design, or technical sales).
• Strong ability to interpret technical specifications, drawings, and RFQs.
• Knowledge of thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics.
• Comfortable speaking with consultants, contractors, and technical stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical discipline.

Nice to Have

• Previous experience in a customer-facing sales role.
• Familiarity with SPX tools/software.
• Understanding of pricing structures and competitor positioning.
