Assistant Manager - Hospitality Focus
About the Role
We're hiring an Assistant Manager to join our team at The Union Bar & Grill in London. As an Assistant Manager, you will support the General Manager in the day-to-day operations of our establishment, ensuring exceptional customer service and strong team performance. This is a hands-on role that requires leadership on the floor, attention to detail, and a passion for hospitality. What You'll Do
- Assist in managing daily bar and floor operations to ensure high standards of service, cleanliness, and presentation.
- Oversee opening and closing procedures, maintaining stock control, ordering, and supplier relationships.
- Support compliance with licensing laws, health & safety, and company policies.
- Lead by example during service, training, coaching, and developing team members.
- Manage rotas in line with business needs and labor targets while handling staff performance and conduct issues.
- Deliver outstanding guest service at all times and handle customer feedback professionally.
- Support achievement of sales targets and KPIs, monitoring labor costs and productivity.
- Identify opportunities to increase revenue and control costs while ensuring adherence to licensing laws and brand standards.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a supervisory or assistant manager role in hospitality.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Good understanding of bar operations and stock control.
- Financial awareness and a commercial mindset.
- Personal license preferred but not essential.
