About the Role

We are seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher in Computational Biology Systems to join our innovative team at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC). This remote position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research in computational biology, utilizing advanced AI techniques and multi-omics data integration.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and implement computational models to simulate biological processes at various time scales.
  • Integrate multi-omics data into predictive models for personalized medicine applications.
  • Collaborate with experimental groups to validate models through experimental data.
  • Design and deploy workflows using agentic AI to enhance model construction and analysis.
  • Mentor PhD and MSc students, guiding them in their research projects.
  • Organize workshops and seminars to disseminate knowledge within the Life Sciences department.

Requirements

  • PhD in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Biology, or a related field with a strong focus on computational biology.
  • Proven experience in bioinformatics and computational biology, particularly in modeling biological processes.
  • Strong programming skills in C++ and Python.
  • Familiarity with Linux/Unix systems and experience with high-performance computing (HPC).
  • Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-experts.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with agent-based modeling and constraint-based modeling techniques.
  • Creative problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to research.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
