About the Role

We are seeking a Mass Properties Engineer remote to join our innovative team at hackajob, collaborating with BAE Critical Skills. This role is pivotal in driving the future of submarine design by gathering and analyzing mass property data across complex equipment and systems. You will ensure precision weight and balance control on multi-billion-pound defense programs, making a significant impact in the field.

What You'll Do

• Gather and analyze mass property data to support submarine design.
• Partner with the Mass Properties Lead to deliver high-impact weight and centroid reports.
• Collaborate with engineers across mechanical, electrical, and systems disciplines.
• Maintain a comprehensive database of mass properties to support design accuracy.
• Identify and manage weight risks and opportunities to unlock performance gains.
• Utilize CAD models to extract and estimate mass properties.
• Apply advanced statistical analysis to inform senior leaders and stakeholders.
• Drive data-driven decisions that shape the future fleet.

Requirements

• Qualified in a STEM subject or possess extensive relevant experience.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Ability to understand and interpret engineering data.
• Experience with large electrical or mechanical systems is a plus.
• Data analysis experience, including interpretation and visualization.
• Experience using CAD packages is desirable.
• CEng/IEng status or a clear pathway to achieving professional recognition.

Nice to Have

• Experience in data analysis and presentation.
• Familiarity with engineering data interpretation.
