Autonomy Engineer - Remote Position for Aircraft Platform

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Autonomy Engineer to join our team remotely and contribute to an exciting autonomy program focused on developing planning, behavior, and guidance capabilities for aircraft platforms. As an Autonomy Engineer remote, you will work across core autonomy modules, including behavior planning, path/route planning, and guidance systems, with a strong emphasis on decision-making logic and system-level autonomy architecture.

What You'll Do

• Develop behavior trees and mission logic for autonomous systems.
• Build path and trajectory planning capabilities that enhance aircraft autonomy.
• Work on guidance algorithms such as pure pursuit and Model Predictive Control (MPC).
• Write clean, testable code in C++ and Python within an existing autonomy framework.
• Run simulations, validate outputs, and support system-level testing to ensure reliability and performance.

Requirements

• Strong programming skills in C++ and/or Python.
• Experience in autonomy, robotics, UAVs, or similar domains.
• Background in planning, controls, or guidance systems.
• Exposure to real-world systems beyond simulation or research.
• Must be a US citizen due to project requirements.

Nice to Have

• Experience with advanced autonomy algorithms.
• Familiarity with simulation tools and methodologies.
• Knowledge of aerospace engineering principles.
