Technical Editor - Remote Opportunity at Tecan

About the Role

Join Tecan as a Technical Editor (remote) and leverage your skills to influence the future of medical technology. In this role, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining user manuals and documentation for medical and laboratory devices. Your contributions will directly impact the quality and clarity of technical communication within the healthcare sector.

What You'll Do

• Create and revise user manuals in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Edit new or modified documents in the technical field.
• Coordinate translation and localization tasks to ensure global accessibility.
• Ensure timely completion of all documentation.
• Contribute to linguistically relevant change requests.
• Optimize the translation process (localization) for efficiency.
• Assist in the maintenance and care of the manual process.
• Provide guidance on linguistic questions within your area of expertise.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in technical documentation, linguistics, or document management.
• Technical education (e.g., HTL) with practical experience in technical documentation or language studies.
• Proficient in Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, Excel, etc.); knowledge of DTP systems is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills in German and English, both written and verbal.
• Additional foreign languages are a bonus.
• A passion for learning and growing with the team.

According to the Austrian Equal Treatment Act, we are required to state the monthly minimum salary for this position at EUR 4,077.31 (classification according to the collective agreement for the electrical and electronics industry, full-time 38.5 hours/week). Depending on qualifications and experience, a significant overpayment is possible.
