Senior Software Engineer - AI Model Reasoning (Remote)

About the Role

We're hiring a Senior Software Engineer for AI Model Reasoning to join our innovative team at YO IT CONSULTING. This fully remote position allows you to leverage your software engineering expertise to contribute to high-impact research collaborations with leading AI labs. As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in building training datasets that enhance AI model reasoning and problem-solving capabilities on real-world coding tasks.

What You'll Do

• Review model-generated code trajectories on realistic software engineering tasks.
• Reconstruct chain-of-thought reasoning that explains each step of the solution process.
• Annotate decision points, debugging logic, and problem-solving strategies.
• Utilize full task context (codebase, issue descriptions, test cases) to infer plausible reasoning.
• Ensure annotations reflect realistic developer thought processes and technical accuracy.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in software engineering, with hands-on debugging and problem-solving in real codebases.
• A degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (Bachelor's minimum; advanced degree preferred).
• Strong proficiency in Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, or other common languages found in open-source projects.
• Familiarity with version control workflows (Git, PRs, issue tracking).
• Comfortable articulating technical reasoning in clear, structured writing.

Nice to Have

• Experience with AI model training and evaluation.
• Knowledge of machine learning principles and practices.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
