Senior API Product Engineer - Remote Role

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior API Product Engineer remote to join our team at Maxwell Bond. In this role, you will build and own APIs as products, focusing on outcomes rather than just completing tickets. You will work hands-on across the full API lifecycle, contributing to shared tooling and patterns while adhering to platform standards.

What You'll Do

• Design and build APIs aligned to agreed standards, including naming, versioning, and security.
• Work with domain data models to create REST and event-driven APIs.
• Maintain consistency across platform patterns and improve platform tooling.
• Utilize shared CI/CD pipelines, templates, and reference architectures.
• Manage the full API lifecycle including design, build, test, deploy, and operate APIs.
• Implement security measures, including OAuth2 authentication and client credentials.
• Ensure services remain observable and supportable through logging, metrics, and tracing.
• Collaborate with QA, platform engineering, and product stakeholders to align with wider delivery and architecture direction.

Requirements

• Strong API engineering experience across REST and event-driven systems.
• Experience with cloud-native development, ideally in Azure.
• Familiarity with CI/CD and infrastructure as code.
• Strong understanding of integration patterns, both synchronous and asynchronous.
• Experience implementing OAuth2 security protocols.
• Comfortable working within guardrails and using shared tooling and frameworks.
• Ability to work with complex operational data and maintain data accuracy across systems.
