Senior System Administrator - Remote Opportunity at Form Energy

About the Role

As a Senior System Administrator remote, you will manage the design, implementation, and day-to-day operations of our IT infrastructure, ensuring it meets the growing needs of our organization.

What You'll Do

• Oversee and participate in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of servers, networks, and virtualization platforms.
• Lead the design and implementation of firewalls, including network segmentation, NAT/access rules, cross-site and user VPNs, and Azure network security.
• Implement and manage a company-wide patch management solution with environment-specific policies.
• Manage an Active Directory hybrid environment, identity and access controls, and other core IT systems.
• Collaborate with IT leadership to plan and execute infrastructure upgrades and long-term architecture roadmaps.
• Manage several aspects of M365, including SharePoint, OneDrive, and SSO/SCIM.
• Implement and maintain system monitoring to ensure uptime, performance, and reliability.
• Automate administrative and monitoring tasks using PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
• Mentor and guide junior IT team members.

Requirements

• 10+ years of system administration experience, including 2+ years in a senior or lead role.
• Deep knowledge of Windows Server, Linux, VMware/Hyper-V, and cloud platforms (Azure).
• Strong understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, Wireless, VLANs, switches, firewalls, VPNs).
• Experience with monitoring and backup tools (e.g., Veeam, Azure Native Backup).
• Proficiency in scripting languages (PowerShell, Python, Bash).
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Nice to Have

• Working knowledge of Google Workspace and M365 administration.
• Strong project management, communication, and mentoring skills.
