Senior Software Engineer - Applied Research Engineering (Remote)

About the Role

We're hiring a Senior Software Engineer - Applied Research Engineering to join our innovative team at Poolside. This remote position offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge AI technologies and contribute to the development of coding agents that will shape the future of software engineering.

What You'll Do

• Design, build, and maintain the core framework for Poolside’s coding agents.
• Develop scalable, secure, and isolated runtime environments to run agents in complex enterprise environments.
• Collaborate with research and product teams to prototype, develop, and evaluate new agent capabilities.
• Continuously improve the performance, reliability, and developer experience of our platform.
• Push the boundaries of what AI agents can do in software engineering tasks.

Requirements

• Solid understanding of AI agents or a strong interest in developing expertise in this area.
• Strong programming skills in Go, C, C++, or Python.
• Experience in large scale, distributed data systems is a plus.
• Familiarity with container runtimes, microVMs, or sandboxing systems is a plus.
• Entry-level experience in software engineering with a passion for building reliable, high-performance systems.
