Senior Radar and Sensor Engineer - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Radar and Sensor Engineer to join our innovative team at Sandia National Laboratories. What You'll Do

• Analyze, design, and develop advanced radar systems, subsystems, and modules.
• Develop Concepts of Operation and perform system-level design and integration.
• Create and execute test and qualification plans to ensure system reliability.
• Lead or support formal program reviews and negotiate technical requirements with customers.
• Deliver hardware within established schedule and budget constraints.
• Shape and guide research activities to meet program needs.
• Develop technical documentation and troubleshoot issues during the development process.
• Serve as a technical interface to other design and support organizations.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline and five (5) years of directly relevant experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance.
• Strong foundation in radar fundamentals and digital signal processing (DSP).
• Programming experience in MATLAB and proficiency in one or more general-purpose languages (C/C++, Python, Rust, Java, Fortran).
• Experience using RF/microwave test equipment and measurement techniques.

Nice to Have

• Graduate degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Knowledge of RF, Digital Communications, Electronic Warfare, and Cyber Security systems.
• Experience in antenna design and analysis.
• Familiarity with edge/embedded software development and GPU/TPU acceleration.
