Senior Linux Administrator - Unified Jury Management System

About the Role

GovCIO is currently hiring a Senior Linux Administrator to provide essential service desk, application, and security management services for the Unified Jury Management System (UJMS). This Senior Linux Administrator remote position requires strong troubleshooting, analytical, and decision-making skills to effectively support and resolve end-user issues or questions. You will provide operational and technical support to address software application, security, and technical issues associated with UJMS.

What You'll Do

  • Provide Tier 1 & 2 support for UJMS, ensuring timely and effective solutions.
  • Utilize ITSM tools to create or track issues/requests, maintaining clear communication with users.
  • Perform remote troubleshooting and determine the best solution based on user-provided details.
  • Properly escalate unresolved queries to the next level of support, ensuring all issues are documented and closed appropriately.
  • Follow up with users to provide feedback and ensure problems are resolved to their satisfaction.
  • Preserve and grow the knowledge base for supported applications, contributing to continuous improvement.
  • Review and provide recommendations regarding application instructional or procedural documentation.
  • Conduct IT application and security management activities, ensuring compliance with best practices.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree with 7 years of experience or 10 years of experience in lieu of education requirement.
  • Minimum 5 years of IT work experience, specifically supporting Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 7 or higher.
  • Experience with Apache Tomcat and Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Strong understanding of troubleshooting IT issues and flexibility to handle various service calls.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to acquire and maintain an AOUSC Public Trust clearance.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with ServiceNow and software application management.
  • Background in network security and understanding of ITIL best practices.
  • Experience in Federal appellate, district, and bankruptcy court operations.
  • CompTIA Linux+ or Linux Professional Institute LPIC-1 certification.
