Systems Engineer - Defense Systems
About the Role
Raytheon is seeking a talented and motivated Systems Engineer to join our dynamic Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SETC) discipline. This Systems Engineer remote role offers a unique opportunity to work across the entire product lifecycle, from initial concept through deployment and sustainment. As part of the SETC organization, you will be involved in designing, developing, and testing innovative defense systems that directly support mission-critical operations.
What You'll Do
- Update, maintain, and improve systems requirements, and develop system architecture using Model-Based Systems Engineering tools.
- Conduct trade studies based on concepts of operations to optimize system design and performance.
- Develop and implement test plans, procedures, and verification documentation for both simulated and real-world testing environments.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate hardware and software components into tactical systems, evaluating their functionality and impact.
- Create and modify technical documentation to support design reviews and test events.
- Support platform integration, flight testing, qualification, and design verification activities.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, and system issues through detailed data analysis and debugging.
- Perform statistical and numerical data analysis to verify system performance and ensure compliance with requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred).
- Minimum of two years of relevant engineering experience.
- Experience with systems requirements, systems integration, and testing processes.
- Ability to obtain an interim Secret U.S. government-issued security clearance prior to employment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Foundational understanding of the systems engineering lifecycle.
