Senior Cloud Engineer - Kubernetes & Terraform Remote

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to join our team remotely. This Senior Cloud Engineer remote position is a 6-month contract with a strong likelihood of extension. You will play a crucial role in a large cloud modernization effort, focusing on Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code, and scalable cloud platforms. If you are passionate about building modern cloud solutions rather than maintaining legacy systems, this role is perfect for you.

What You'll Do

• Engage in hands-on engineering work to modernize cloud infrastructure and migrate existing services into Kubernetes.
• Utilize Terraform to support multiple environments and build infrastructure using AWS CDK in Python.
• Contribute to multi-region architecture and automated failover strategies.
• Standardize tooling across environments to improve reliability and disaster recovery.
• Work in a fast-paced modernization environment with evolving requirements.

Requirements

• Strong experience with Kubernetes, especially EKS.
• Proficient in Terraform with real production use cases.
• Experience writing AWS CDK in Python and understanding the differences between infrastructure code and application Python.
• Comfortable in a dynamic environment with changing requirements.
• Nice to have: Experience with GitOps, deployment tooling (Argo, Flux, GitHub Actions), broader AWS experience, exposure to GCP, and observability tooling.

Nice to Have

• Experience with highly available or disaster-recovery-focused systems.
• Familiarity with Docker and Microservices architecture.
