Senior C++ Game Programmer (Unreal Engine) - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior C++ Game Programmer (Unreal Engine) to join our dynamic team at RocketWerkz. This remote position offers you the opportunity to work on the acclaimed game Icarus, a complex systems-driven sandbox open-world survival game. As a key member of the team, you will contribute to the ongoing development and enhancement of the game, which has sold over three million units since its launch.

What You'll Do

• Rapidly prototype game systems and gameplay using Unreal Engine 4.27, leveraging both Blueprints and C++ as needed.
• Develop core gameplay systems including combat, exploration, inventory, and more.
• Continuously adapt code in response to gameplay feedback to enhance player experience.
• Collaborate closely with core programming and game design teams to ensure cohesive project development.
• Utilize tools such as Jira and Confluence to manage your workload effectively.
• Contribute to the overall project vision and help maintain the high standards of our game development.

Requirements

• 6+ years of game programming or relevant game development experience.
• Experience with Unreal Engine, ideally having published a game built with it.
• Strong understanding of Unreal Engine Blueprints and C++ implementation.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.

Nice to Have

• Experience playing open-world or survival games for 100+ hours.
• Familiarity with game development tools and methodologies.
