About the Role

We are seeking a Product Platform Development Engineer to join our team at Continental. This remote position offers an exciting opportunity to work on pioneering technologies and services for sustainable mobility. You will play a key role in developing a customer-focused platform for our ContiTech product group, ensuring that we meet the needs of our global markets.

What You'll Do

  • Create and maintain a product platform for one Product Group, focusing on consolidation of materials and components.
  • Develop a strategic product portfolio by defining materials and specifications that meet product requirements.
  • Align the product platform strategy with regional product management and development teams.
  • Implement activities driven by global strategy and coordinate with regional teams.
  • Manage projects efficiently within the PLC D1 process landscape, ensuring effective communication with stakeholders.
  • Lead design reviews and gate reviews to steer material development and prototype production.
  • Utilize basic quality tools such as FMEA and Six Sigma to ensure product quality.
  • Engage in international customer relations with a strong focus on cultural sensitivity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, material science, or a related field.
  • Experience in product development and project management.
  • Strong understanding of materials and production concepts.
  • Excellent communication skills in native language and English.
  • Ability to inspire stakeholders and navigate intercultural dynamics.
  • Motivation for sustainability topics and openness to new working styles.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in developing test concepts for new products.
  • Understanding of design of experiments (DOE).
  • Previous experience as a project leader.
