Product Design Manager - Checkout and Payments (Remote)

About the Role

We are seeking a talented Product Design Manager - Checkout and Payments (Remote) to join our dynamic team at Agoda. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in shaping the user experience for our checkout and payments systems. You will lead a team of designers and collaborate closely with product managers and engineers to create seamless and intuitive experiences for our users.

What You'll Do

• Manage the scope of work for your team, determining how to divide tasks among designers effectively.
• Lead design strategy for complex initiatives, ensuring alignment with business objectives and measurement on core product initiatives.
• Foster a positive culture within your team, coaching and mentoring designers to enhance their skills and career growth.
• Drive design vs. business objectives, advocating for user-centric solutions while aligning with overarching business goals.
• Represent your team to senior management, ensuring priorities are understood and addressing any challenges or misalignments.
• Build a high-performing team by hiring skilled designers and maintaining a healthy work environment.
• Surface and address questions, bottlenecks, dependencies, and conflicts as they arise, collaborating with stakeholders as needed.
• Incorporate advancements in product design to guide your team's practices and skills.

Requirements

• Proven experience in leading design strategy for complex initiatives and growing design leaders.
• Strong ability to lead through ambiguity, using soft skills to persuade and align with senior leaders.
• Experience in identifying customer experience opportunities that create significant impact across the organization.
• Deep understanding of current native technologies and design patterns.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate ideas and design solutions effectively.
• A passion for travel and a desire to make an impact in the travel industry.
