Mid-Level Mechanisms Engineer - Relocation Support
About the Role
We are seeking a Mid-Level Mechanisms Engineer to join our team at Actalent. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on aerospace projects while providing relocation support to help you transition smoothly into your new position. As a Mechanisms Engineer, you will provide essential manufacturing and test engineering support during production phases, ensuring that integration and verification processes are executed efficiently.
What You'll Do
- Provide engineering support to Production during build, integration, and verification phases.
- Lead mechanism-level and subsystem-level tests, developing testing requirements and processes.
- Participate in and execute design, analysis, and system trade studies for mechanism assembly, integration, and testing (AIT) strategies.
- Provide inputs to Design Engineering to optimize manufacturing flow, cost, and layout.
- Prepare detailed product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data.
- Troubleshoot and investigate anomalies and failures, performing root-cause analysis and driving resolution.
- Participate in iterative mechanism design improvements based on findings in tests and production.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
- Minimum of 2–5 years of relevant experience in aerospace or precision hardware assembly/test.
- Experience with aerospace manufacturing and space flight mechanisms.
- Proficiency in mechanical and aerospace engineering principles.
- Familiarity with root cause and corrective action (RCCA) methodologies and nonconformance resolution.
- Experience in supporting vibration, shock, and thermal vacuum (TVAC) test campaigns.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a proven problem-solving mindset.
Nice to Have
- Experience with space-qualified mechanisms such as release devices, actuators, hinges, latches, and deployment systems.
- Working knowledge of ECAD/MCAD integration, configuration control, and product data management systems.
- Preferred certifications: IPC-A-610/J-STD-001, NASA or ECSS-Q-ST-70 standards, AS9100, Six Sigma.
- Proficient in CAD tools such as AutoDesk Inventor, SolidWorks, NX, or Creo.
- Experience with data/documentation systems like Fusion or equivalent PDM/PLM tools.

- Competitive salary range of $110,000 - $120,000 per year.
