Global Head of AML & Regulatory Compliance - Remote

About the Role

We're seeking a Global Head of AML & Regulatory Compliance to join our team at Kraken. As a fully remote position, you'll be part of a world-class team dedicated to building the future of crypto. In this role, you will architect and oversee the global AML/CFT and regulatory compliance program, ensuring robust risk assessment frameworks and controls across all jurisdictions. This position is crucial for maintaining our commitment to regulatory excellence as we expand globally.

What You'll Do

• Lead the development and maintenance of Payward’s global AML/CFT compliance frameworks, ensuring scalability as the business grows.
• Own the global financial crime risk assessment framework, driving annual assessments and ensuring outputs inform compliance strategy.
• Design and maintain global compliance frameworks covering Anti-Bribery & Corruption, Consumer Protection, and proliferation financing.
• Provide second-line oversight to Regional Compliance Officers, supporting regulatory inspections and aligning global frameworks with local requirements.
• Modernize compliance frameworks through AI and automation, integrating risk data into enterprise dashboards.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in AML/CFT, financial crime, or regulatory compliance within the crypto or financial services sector.
• Proven leadership in managing global compliance or risk management teams.
• Deep knowledge of global AML/CFT frameworks and enterprise risk assessment design.
• Strong ability to translate regulatory requirements into scalable, technology-driven operational frameworks.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
