Insurance Risk & Strategy Expert - Remote

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Insurance Risk & Strategy Expert to join our team at Alan. This role offers the opportunity to work remotely while contributing to our mission of transforming health benefits into valuable investments for employers. As an Insurance Risk & Strategy Expert, you will play a crucial role in developing automated and scalable risk assessment tools, ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks, and managing our capital strategy.

What You'll Do

• Strengthen and automate the building of our Solvency 2 balance sheet and capital requirements projections.
• Model new risks as they arise, including new insurance products and international opportunities.
• Challenge our risk appetite and propose relevant risk metrics.
• Support board meetings and communicate with investors regarding capital evolution and market risks.
• Scale and automate the production of regulatory quantitative reporting.
• Manage our reinsurance strategy, negotiating with partners to optimize solvency and profitability.
• Create processes and resources to enhance team understanding of risk and capital constraints.
• Assist in identifying and hiring new talents for the Insurance and Risk teams.

Requirements

• Experience with the Solvency 2 regulatory framework, particularly in S2 accounting.
• Fluency in English and French for regulatory interactions.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including data analysis capabilities.
• Ability to automate processes and build new tools; programming skills are a plus.
• Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
