Identity Security Engineer - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are looking for a skilled Identity Security Engineer to join our team remotely. In this role, you will design, build, and operate the Okta platform, ensuring robust identity governance and security controls across our enterprise. As an Identity Security Engineer, you will play a crucial role in enhancing our identity security posture while working with a diverse team of experts.

What You'll Do

• Design and deploy Okta Identity Governance modules, including Access Requests, Certifications, and Entitlement Management.
• Develop and maintain custom workflows and policies within Okta IGA to enforce Segregation of Duties (SOD) rules.
• Manage Okta organization architecture using Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform) to ensure version control.
• Implement and enforce Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) policies and Risk-Based Authentication.
• Develop automation using Okta APIs, Event Hooks, and Workflows for seamless integration.
• Partner with GRC and Audit teams to support SOX and NIST requirements.
• Ensure identity controls are measurable, auditable, and consistently enforced.

Requirements

• 6+ years of hands-on experience operating Okta in a production environment.
• Experience with Okta Identity Governance (OIG) and lifecycle automation.
• Proficiency in Terraform for managing configuration as code.
• Ability to write scripts in Python or JavaScript/TypeScript for custom API integrations.
• Strong understanding of identity security principles and best practices.

Nice to Have

• Experience with SIEM tools and threat monitoring.
• Knowledge of governance, risk, and compliance frameworks.
• Familiarity with cloud security practices.
