Director of Marketing - Application Modernization (Remote)

About the Role

We are seeking a talented and experienced Director of Marketing - Application Modernization to join our team at vFunction. This remote role is pivotal in shaping our go-to-market strategy and driving awareness of AI-driven application modernization. As the Director of Marketing, you will lead our marketing efforts to position vFunction as a leader in the industry, helping enterprises transition from legacy systems to modern, cloud-native architectures.

What You'll Do

• Own and evolve vFunction's messaging, positioning, and value proposition for enterprise buyers and architectural decision-makers.
• Develop compelling narratives around AI-augmented modernization, differentiating vFunction from manual modernization approaches and competitive tools.
• Lead the creation of core sales and partner enablement materials, including pitch decks, one-pagers, and technical white papers.
• Drive product launch strategy and execution in partnership with Product Management, translating new capabilities into market-relevant stories.
• Conduct ongoing win/loss analysis, competitive intelligence, and buyer research to inform positioning and product strategy.
• Design and execute integrated campaigns targeting enterprise accounts in cloud migration and modernization phases.
• Build and manage co-marketing programs with hyperscaler partners to generate pipeline through partner-sourced leads.
• Oversee content marketing strategy, including thought leadership and executive communications that build credibility with technical and business buyers.

Requirements

• 5+ years of B2B enterprise software marketing experience, with at least 3 years in a senior product marketing or integrated marketing leadership role.
• Demonstrated experience marketing developer tools, cloud-native platforms, or application modernization technologies.
• Proven ability to craft clear, differentiated positioning for complex, technical products.
• Hands-on experience building and executing co-marketing programs with hyperscalers (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

• Prior experience at an enterprise software startup scaling marketing from early-stage to growth.
• Background in application architecture or cloud infrastructure.
