Global Head of Cyber Defense & Security Operations - Remote

About the Role

We are seeking a Global Head of Cyber Defense & Security Operations to lead our Information Security Operations organization at Sandoz. In this remote role, you will ensure that all Sandoz assets are protected and monitored according to leading practices for Information Security. You will be solely responsible for overseeing the security posture of our environment, aligning with commitments made to the Risk Committee of the Board.

What You'll Do

• Lead the Sandoz Cyber Security Operations Center (SOC), overseeing monitoring, detection, and management of security incidents and cyber threats.
• Provide full visibility of cyber risk and exposure across the threat landscape, enabling near real-time prediction, detection, and response to attacks.
• Define standards for security events and log creation, maintaining IDS, SIEM, SOAR, and email hygiene systems.
• Develop policies, procedures, and guidelines for a security incident response program.
• Conduct attack and penetration assessments to demonstrate the actual risk from cyber security breaches.
• Establish processes for gathering, processing, and interpreting digital evidence to provide insights on incidents.
• Perform regular tabletop and red team exercises to test incident response plans.
• Lead and develop diverse teams across wide geographies, fostering an entrepreneurial mindset driven by curiosity and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• At least 15 years of experience in Information Security, with experience running security operations and a Cyber Defense Center (SOC) in a regulated environment.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop influential relationships across all levels.
• Knowledge of industry standards such as ISO 27001, CIS Controls, NIST, and Cyber Essentials.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to multitask and delegate effectively.
• Master's degree or equivalent experience in computer science, engineering, or information technology.

Nice to Have

• Certification or accreditation in Information Security (e.g., CISM, CISA, CISSP).
• Experience working in a regulated environment.
