Data Science Manager - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are seeking a talented Data Science Manager to join our team at Auctane. This remote Data Science Manager position offers the opportunity to lead a dynamic team focused on developing cutting-edge AI and statistical models that drive our business forward. You will be instrumental in optimizing our machine learning products and ensuring high-quality deliverables that meet our customers' needs.

What You'll Do

• Lead and manage a multi-member data science team, fostering a collaborative environment.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders across the organization regarding all machine learning projects.
• Actively participate in machine learning projects for both internal and customer-facing applications.
• Ensure the quality of code, processes, projects, and systems utilized by the team.
• Conduct code reviews and participate in architectural design sessions to enhance project outcomes.
• Provide mentorship and career guidance to team members, promoting their professional growth.
• Identify and resolve performance challenges proactively within the team.
• Oversee the recruitment process to build a strong data science team.
• Set the technical roadmap for the team, prioritizing tasks based on business value and strategic goals.
• Develop testing frameworks to ensure all code produced is accurate, explainable, and efficient.

Requirements

• Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Management experience with a track record of providing guidance and feedback to team members.
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills in complex data environments.
• Experience leading full-stack machine learning and data science projects.
• Solid understanding of machine learning and statistical methods, including their underlying theories.
• Proficiency in cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Highly skilled in Python; familiarity with R or Scala is a plus.
• Experience with SQL and relational databases.
• Familiarity with Git and Docker for version control and containerization.
• Experience coding agents for machine learning projects.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with teams across the organization, including Data Engineering and Product teams.

Nice to Have

• Experience with e-commerce or shipping logistics data.
• Knowledge of geospatial analysis and graph networks.
• Experience with CI/CD solutions for machine learning.
• Familiarity with AI agent development.
• Experience deploying cloud-hosted model endpoints for real-time inference.
