Data Science Internship - Wearables & Sensor Data (Remote)

About the Role

We are excited to offer a Data Science Internship - Wearables & Sensor Data position at greenteg AG, where you will work on cutting-edge thermal sensing solutions. This internship is a fantastic opportunity for you to gain hands-on experience in the field of data science and machine learning, specifically focusing on wearable technology. As a Data Science Intern, you will play a crucial role in helping our customers successfully integrate our innovative solutions into their wearable products.

What You'll Do

• Calibrate sensors and evaluate the performance of our machine learning models on customer devices.
• Plan and conduct data collection and validation studies to ensure model accuracy.
• Analyze, visualize, and report model performance issues observed in real-world usage.
• Develop Python tools and pipelines to support customer integration and troubleshooting.
• Simulate model performance under varying sensor characteristics (e.g., noise, sampling rate, signal quality).
• (Optional) Support compilation and deployment of embedded ML libraries on target devices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (or currently enrolled) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or a related field.
• Valid Swiss work permit or EU/EFTA citizenship.
• Strong proficiency in Python with experience in scientific and ML libraries (NumPy, SciPy, scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Solid understanding of data analysis, statistics, and machine learning fundamentals.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to translate real-world problems into robust solutions.
• Ability to clearly communicate technical findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• English proficiency at C1 level.

Nice to Have

• Experience with signal processing or time-series data.
• Familiarity with C programming or embedded systems.
• Experience working with sensor data or wearable devices.
