Site Reliability Engineer - Cloud Native Focus
About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and technically strong Site Reliability Engineer to join our team remotely. As a Site Reliability Engineer remote, you will help build, operate, and evolve SWIB’s cloud-native technology stack, contributing across the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). This role is essential in partnering closely with application, data, and infrastructure teams to enhance reliability, performance, security, and developer experience.
What You'll Do
- Function as a subject matter expert in delivering and operating reliable, performant, robust, and secure applications, focusing on multi-region and multi-cloud patterns.
- Collaborate with development teams to design, document, create, and maintain highly available systems.
- Design, implement, and manage centralized monitoring solutions that provide expedient actionable feedback to development teams.
- Partner with application development teams to create flows, processes, automation, and tooling.
- Facilitate the evaluation, adoption, and integration of AI into the software delivery platform.
- Create an environment of continuous experimentation and learning.
- Contribute to the evolution of our cloud-focused architecture to increase its flexibility and ease of use.
- Mentor new or less senior members of the team, sharing experience and knowledge to improve processes and productivity.
Requirements

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 3+ years of professional Site Reliability Engineering experience.
- Hands-on development experience in a modern programming language (Python preferred).
- Experience with cloud environments (AWS preferred).
- Solid experience implementing Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform or OpenTofu preferred).
- Background in implementing and delivering complex application architectures, including distributed computing and event-based architecture.
Nice to Have
- Experience building and running CI/CD infrastructure (GitLab preferred).
- Experience with container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes, EKS, or Elastic Container Service (ECS).
- Foundational understanding of information security concepts.
- Experience with monitoring tools such as Sentry, Prometheus, and Datadog.
