Chief Information Security Officer - Remote

About the Role

We are seeking a Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) remote to join Filigran, a pioneering company in the cybersecurity sector. Founded in October 2022, Filigran is dedicated to transforming cyber threat management through innovative open-source solutions. As our first internal security leader, you will design, build, and run the foundations of our information security program, ensuring that cybersecurity and data protection are integral to our operations.

What You'll Do

• Build and lead the Security Operations team, establishing the first CSIRT and SecOps framework.
• Define processes for incident detection, response, containment, and recovery.
• Act as the primary incident commander for security events and data breaches.
• Leverage Filigran’s products for advanced threat intelligence analysis and attack simulations.
• Establish the Filigran-CERT (F-CERT) as a trusted security function within the company.
• Hold the formal Data Protection Officer mandate under GDPR, acting as the point of contact for supervisory authorities.
• Collaborate with C-suite executives and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with AI, privacy, and security regulations.
• Mentor and onboard new hires as the team scales.

Requirements

• Proven experience in an information security leadership role, such as CISO or Head of Security.
• Formal DPO qualification or equivalent experience with a solid understanding of GDPR and EU data protection law.
• Strong background in incident response, forensics, and security monitoring.
• Experience with managed SOC services in hybrid models.
• Knowledge of threat intelligence practices and frameworks, such as MITRE ATT&CK.
• Excellent communication skills with regulators, customers, and technical teams.
• Fluency in English is required; French is a strong plus.

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with red teaming and security testing.
• Experience using OpenCTI for threat intelligence.
• Hands-on mindset, comfortable being the first security leader in a scaling organization.
