Business Intelligence Analyst - Power BI & SQL (Remote)

About the Role

We are looking for a talented Business Intelligence Analyst (Remote) to join our team at Encore Talent Solutions. This fully remote position allows you to work from anywhere in the United States while supporting our healthcare client. You will play a crucial role in data-driven decision-making by leveraging your expertise in Power BI and SQL.

What You'll Do

• Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI.
• Write complex SQL queries to extract, transform, and analyze large datasets.
• Partner with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into reporting solutions.
• Develop and maintain data models, relationships, and calculated measures (DAX) in Power BI.
• Optimize report performance and ensure data accuracy and consistency.
• Perform data validation and troubleshoot data discrepancies.
• Support ad hoc analysis and reporting requests.
• Document data sources, definitions, and reporting processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Business, or related field.
• 3–6+ years of experience in a BI/Data Analyst role.
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Power BI (data modeling, DAX, visualization).
• Advanced proficiency in SQL (joins, CTEs, window functions, query optimization).
• Experience working with relational databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, etc.).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Power BI Service (publishing, workspace management, data refresh, security).
• Knowledge of ETL processes and tools (SSIS, Azure Data Factory, etc.).
• Experience with Azure or other cloud data platforms.
• Familiarity with data warehousing concepts (star/snowflake schema).
• Experience with scripting languages such as Python (nice to have).
