About the Role

As the VP of People Operations at Swoogo, you will lead a fully remote team and play a pivotal role in shaping our company culture and people strategy. This is a unique opportunity to drive HR operations, talent acquisition, and employee engagement initiatives in a dynamic environment. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance and fostering a culture that values connection and creativity.

What You'll Do

  • Own all HR operations, including onboarding, I-9s, and policy administration for a fully remote workforce.
  • Oversee Talent Acquisition, collaborating with Finance and department leads to enhance hiring quality.
  • Drive hiring strategy and compensation philosophy to foster engagement and high performance.
  • Serve as the go-to person for complex employee relations matters and performance management.
  • Utilize systems to promote clear performance expectations and career paths.
  • Lead engagement strategies, translating insights into initiatives that enhance employee satisfaction.
  • Manage employee offboarding processes, including exit interviews and severance agreements.
  • Administer employee benefits programs, ensuring alignment with employee needs and company values.
  • Coordinate all-company offsites and incentive trips for top performers.
  • Facilitate weekly company touchpoints to keep remote employees informed and engaged.
  • Manage employee recognition programs, including performance-based awards.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor on org design and headcount planning.
  • Build and develop a growing People team, partnering with Finance and Legal.

Requirements

  • 8–15+ years of progressive HR/People leadership experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
  • Experience supporting companies through scaleup stages (100–500+ employees).
  • Proven ability to operate across the full HR spectrum, from fundamentals to board-level strategy.
  • Experience with talent acquisition and full-cycle recruiting.
  • Strong EQ and communication skills across all organizational levels.
  • Hands-on experience managing terminations and severance processes.
  • Experience with large-scale company events or culture programs.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in a remote-first, high-growth SaaS or tech environment.
  • Led ERG strategy, DEI programming, or culture committee work.
  • Experience in event technology or adjacent SaaS verticals.
