About the Role

We are seeking a Vice President of Manufacturing - Cement to join our team at Ash Grove Cement. This remote position offers an exciting opportunity to lead our manufacturing operations across North America. As a key member of our leadership team, you will drive manufacturing excellence and ensure our operations achieve world-class safety, production reliability, and product quality.

What You'll Do

  • Promote and adhere to all plant safety guidelines, establishing a culture of safety and accountability.
  • Provide strategic leadership for all cement plants in the region, aligning operational performance with corporate goals.
  • Oversee production planning, inventory management, and coordination with Supply Chain and Commercial teams to meet customer demand.
  • Partner with Finance to develop and manage annual budgets, capital plans, and long-range operational forecasts.
  • Conduct ongoing operational reviews, including dashboards, audits, KPIs, and site visits, to ensure performance consistency.
  • Drive operational reliability through proactive maintenance strategies and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Technical Services, Quality, HR, Environmental, and Commercial teams to support customer solutions.
  • Maintain strong external relationships with industry associations, regulators, suppliers, and engineering partners.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a 4-year Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Geology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a leadership role in cement manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated success in P&L oversight, budget management, capital planning, and operational transformation.
  • Ability to coach high-performing teams and build succession pipelines.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to influence organizational culture.

Nice to Have

  • Experience leading multiple large-scale facilities across broad geographic regions.
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance and environmental sustainability initiatives.
  • Experience with technological advancements in manufacturing processes.
