Head of Product Engineering - Uncrewed Systems

About the Role

We're seeking a Head of Product Engineering remote to lead our innovative team at Alexander Ash Consulting. This role is pivotal in driving the development of uncrewed systems for harsh environments, ensuring product delivery at scale and speed. As the Head of Product Engineering, you'll be responsible for building a best-in-class engineering environment that fosters innovation and efficiency.

What You'll Do

• Build and scale a high-performing product engineering team, focusing on diverse and multidisciplinary backgrounds.
• Drive new product development initiatives and integrate legacy product lines into the new engineering framework.
• Engage directly with operational end users to facilitate rapid product iteration and feedback.
• Establish trust-based relationships with the Board and engineering teams to ensure alignment on product vision and execution.
• Oversee the full systems architecture, including electronics, power management, EMI, packaging, embedded software, and test automation.

Requirements

• Proven experience in multidisciplinary engineering leadership and industrial design.
• Deep expertise in full systems architecture and product leadership from concept to production.
• Experience in shipping ruggedized products in high volumes (tens to thousands of units).
• Excellent communication skills for stakeholder engagement and relationship management.
• Degree in a relevant engineering discipline and eligibility for UK Security Clearance.

• Familiarity with manufacturing and supply chain processes.
• Previous experience in uncrewed systems or similar technology sectors.
