Senior System Administrator - Onsite Role with Relocation Support

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior System Administrator to join our team at Raytheon. This role is based onsite at Stennis Space Center, Mississippi, and offers a unique opportunity to work in a classified environment. As a Senior System Administrator, you will play a critical role in supporting our mission to create a safer, more secure world. You will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining system health and security posture, directly supporting mission-critical capabilities. This position requires an active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance and is not available for remote work.

What You'll Do

• Support a Raytheon program in a classified environment as a Senior System Administrator.
• Monitor and support systems that operate 24x7, with occasional after-hours responsibilities.
• Collaborate with program developers and system engineers to research issues and implement solutions.
• Maintain secure, cost-efficient environments across various classified programs.
• Serve as a help desk team member in a customer-facing environment, ensuring effective communication with teams and customers.
• Work under pressure to restore high-priority systems back to operational status.
• Participate in the development of end-to-end solutions to solve complex IT infrastructure problems.
• Engage in frequent customer interactions to uphold our excellent reputation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
• Active and transferable U.S. government issued TS/SCI with poly security clearance required prior to start date.
• Must have an active DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 certification (or higher) on start date.
• Experience with VMWare or Linux Systems Administration.
• Familiarity with configuring domain information utilities, such as Active Directory, Centrify, LDAP, and DNS.
• Experience with Veritas tape libraries and/or Hitachi VSPs.
• Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills in a real-time operational environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with customers and team members.

Nice to Have

• Experience presenting technical information to customers and internal audiences.
• Ability to navigate, debug, and modify programs in an advanced programming language.
• Experience with storage products from Oracle, Dell/EMC, and/or NetApp.
• Thorough understanding of operating system concepts such as swapping and paging.
