About the Role

We are seeking a talented User Interface (UI)/User Experience (UX) Designer to join our team in a fully remote capacity. As a UI/UX Designer, you will be instrumental in creating engaging digital experiences that enhance the lives of Veterans through innovative technology. What You'll Do

  • Design and maintain modern, user-focused web experiences across various digital properties.
  • Support website redesigns and content organization to improve usability, accessibility, and engagement.
  • Translate complex technical data into compelling visualizations that support leadership decision-making.
  • Create dashboards, charts, infographics, and visual summaries to communicate impact and innovation.
  • Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to design user-centered digital experiences.
  • Conduct user research to apply insights that improve workflows and interfaces.
  • Ensure all designs meet Section 508 accessibility requirements.
  • Participate in Agile workflows and design reviews to deliver high-quality solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of experience, including 7+ years in professional design and 5+ years in UI/UX design.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing digital design and visual storytelling.
  • Experience with design tools such as InDesign, Adobe Creative Cloud, Figma, and Sketch.
  • Proficiency in creating data visualizations for technical audiences.
  • Excellent communication skills to translate complex concepts into clear visuals.

Nice to Have

  • Experience supporting technology or AI initiatives.
  • Familiarity with VA.gov Design System standards.
  • Experience in Agile software development environments.
  • Agile certification (CSM, PMI-ACP, SAFe Agilist, etc.)
