Senior Digital/​Data Architect - Remote Position

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Digital/Data Architect to join our team in a fully remote capacity. As a Senior Digital/Data Architect, you will play a crucial role in leading the architecture of digital platforms and data ecosystems for the Government of Alberta. This role is designed for someone with a strong background in solution architecture and a passion for citizen-centric digital services.

What You'll Do

• Lead the solution architecture of digital services by developing overall architectural plans that prioritize citizen-centered, Agile-oriented approaches.
• Uncover existing system contexts and dependencies to provide recommendations and prototypes for technical discovery.
• Deliver and be accountable for solution designs that support iterative implementation, analyzing impacts, exposure, and risks related to solution and data designs.
• Guide teams through the implementation of digital services, defining tactical approaches for integration and target system boundaries.
• Review code changes and contribute to code when necessary to implement user stories and technical tasks.
• Coach and mentor product teams on architecture, design, and best practices.
• Create and maintain architecture documentation, diagrams, and presentations suitable for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Actively participate in the continuous improvement of the enterprise-architecture practice.

Requirements

• Strong experience leading solution and data architecture for large-scale, enterprise-level digital services.
• Experience in Agile and iterative delivery environments with a citizen-centric design mindset.
• Proven ability to communicate complex architecture concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience designing integration patterns, system boundaries, and reusable components.
• Experience reviewing code and mentoring technical teams.

• Experience working in a public-sector or highly regulated environment.
