Technical Inspector - Remote Position at Fairplay Towage Group

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Technical Inspector to join Fairplay Towage Group in a remote capacity. In this role, you will be responsible for the technical management of our fleet, ensuring operational efficiency and safety standards are met. This Technical Inspector remote position offers you the opportunity to work with a dynamic team while contributing to the maritime industry.

What You'll Do

• Oversee the technical management of our fleet, ensuring all vessels meet safety and operational standards.
• Plan and coordinate repairs and maintenance schedules, including dock times and inspections.
• Conduct regular onboard visits to create necessary inspection reports as required.
• Prepare technical operating cost budgets and monitor the validity of ship documents.
• Organize and supervise external inspections and audits (flag states/classification etc.).
• Act as a point of contact for technical and nautical personnel within our fleet and suppliers.
• Review invoices and manage claims effectively.
• Collaborate with team members to promote a proactive, service-oriented approach.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a technical officer in the fleet or equivalent experience.
• Strong team player with a proactive and solution-oriented work style.
• Excellent communication skills, even in challenging situations.
• Ability to work independently and responsibly with a focus on cost management.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
• Valid driver's license.
