Sub-Ledger Accountant - Remote Opportunity at Nuventura

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Sub-Ledger Accountant to join our innovative team at Nuventura. This remote position plays a vital role in maintaining the integrity of our financial records and ensuring compliance with international accounting standards. As a Sub-Ledger Accountant remote, you will work at the intersection of sub-ledger accounting and group consolidation, utilizing Odoo as our primary system.

What You'll Do

• Manage intercompany accounting by recording intercompany receivables and payables between international entities, ensuring correct coding and documentation.
• Oversee intercompany billing processes, including invoice creation, validation, and reconciliation.
• Prepare intercompany elimination entries for consolidation reporting.
• Maintain intercompany confirmation and documentation processes with subsidiary finance teams.
• Handle general accounting tasks, including accounts payable entries and supplier invoice verification for accuracy and approval.
• Record journal entries for routine transactions (accruals, deferrals, assets, depreciation, etc.).
• Conduct payment runs and manage approval workflows for intercompany and third-party payments.
• Ensure compliance with transfer pricing regulations and international trade laws.
• Administer interest and loan agreements for accurate recording and compliance.
• Regularly reconcile sub-ledger accounts with the general ledger, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
• Support month-end and year-end closing processes by providing timely documentation and analysis.
• Generate financial reports and analyses for intercompany activities.
• Assist with external audit inquiries and collaborate closely with subsidiaries, particularly in India.
• Perform eliminations in consolidation entries using DATEV and our ERP system Odoo.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a comparable qualification (e.g., tax specialist, industrial clerk).
• 3-5 years of professional experience in accounting, ideally with a focus on sub-ledger accounting and intercompany transactions.
• Certification as a certified accountant is a plus.
• Experience in the manufacturing industry or international trade is desirable.
• Strong knowledge of HGB/GAAP/IFRS principles.
• Experience in preparing and analyzing financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow).
• Consolidation experience is a must-have.
• Proficient in accounting software (Odoo, DATEV/Lexware) and Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with ERP systems is essential.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
• Fluent in German and English (written and spoken).
• Proactive and self-reliant work style.
