Strategic Account Executive - Remote Position for GitLab

About the Role

We are seeking a Strategic Account Executive to join our dynamic team at GitLab. This remote position focuses on supporting our strategic large prospects and customers, particularly in South Africa. As a Strategic Account Executive, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing customer satisfaction and driving sales growth through effective account management.

What You'll Do

  • Lead account management efforts for GitLab’s strategic large prospects and customers.
  • Conduct sales activities including prospecting and developing opportunities in large/strategic accounts.
  • Ensure successful rollout and adoption of GitLab products through strong account management activities.
  • Be the voice of the customer by contributing product ideas to our public issue tracker.
  • Generate qualified leads and develop new customers in collaboration with our strategic channel partners.
  • Prepare activity and forecast reports to track progress and outcomes.
  • Communicate lessons learned to the team, including account managers and technical staff.
  • Utilize a consultative approach to discuss business issues with prospects and develop tailored sales proposals.

Requirements

  • A true desire to see customers benefit from their investment.
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision on complex projects.
  • Experience selling into large organizations.
  • Excellent negotiation, presentation, and closing skills.
  • Preferred experience with Git, Software Development Tools, and Application Lifecycle Management.
  • Ability to travel if needed and comply with the company’s travel policy.
