About the Role
We are seeking a talented and experienced Staff/Principal Perception Engineer to join Lumicity, a leading Robotics startup in Boston. As a Staff/Principal Perception Engineer remote, you will have full ownership of projects, taking them from inception to completion. This is a unique opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology that automates tire changing and balancing, replacing manual labor with advanced robotics and software solutions.
What You'll Do
- Lead the design and implementation of perception algorithms for robotic systems.
- Develop and optimize computer vision systems for real-time applications.
- Utilize modern machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch and TensorFlow.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate perception capabilities into robotic systems.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership in the field of computer vision.
Requirements
- 7+ years of industry experience in perception engineering or related fields.
- PhD or MS in Robotics, Machine Learning, or Computer Vision.
- Strong programming skills in Python and/or C++.
- Deep experience with ROS2 and real-time systems.
- Proven track record in building and deploying computer vision systems in production.
Nice to Have
- Experience with object detection, tracking, segmentation, or 3D perception.
- Familiarity with performance optimization techniques.
- Previous experience in a leadership role.
