In-House Engineer - Engagement Engine (Remote)

About the Role

We are excited to announce an opportunity for an In-House Engineer - Engagement Engine (Remote) at The Bloom. As our first in-house engineer, you will play a pivotal role in building the foundational architecture of our new engagement engine. This position allows you to own the entire technical stack initially, focusing on developing backend systems that will power the future of our product. What You'll Do

• Design and implement a scalable backend infrastructure that grows with our community.
• Develop and maintain database systems for data gathering and processing.
• Integrate with various APIs, including LLMs, messaging, and hosting platforms.
• Collaborate with a lean team of proven founders and community builders to drive product innovation.
• Utilize your AI curiosity to integrate AI services into our products effectively.

Requirements

• 5+ years of backend or full-stack engineering experience.
• Strong backend proficiency with a proven ability to build production-ready systems that scale.
• API-first mindset with experience designing, building, and integrating APIs.
• Database expertise, particularly in structuring data for complex relationships.
• Interest in social impact or purpose-driven technology.

Nice to Have

• Experience with messaging platform integrations (e.g., Circle, WhatsApp, Slack).
• Background in recommendation or matchmaking systems.
• Familiarity with vector databases or related services.
• Previous work in B2B SaaS or community platforms.
