Staff IT Engineer - Remote Position

About the Role

We're hiring a Staff IT Engineer - Remote to join our growing team at Ashby. In this pivotal role, you'll be instrumental in shaping our IT landscape as we expand from 250 to over 320 employees. Your expertise will help us deliver world-class support and innovative technology solutions.

What You'll Do

• Own and resolve customer issues from inception to resolution, whether through one-time fixes or comprehensive technical projects.
• Implement best practices for IT functions that enhance productivity and security across the organization.
• Manage projects related to device management, identity management, and user lifecycle processes to automate manual tasks.
• Collaborate with team members to build a stateless internal backend using Typescript services and APIs.
• Lead initiatives to enhance data movement and business logic between systems, ensuring scalability and audit readiness.

Requirements

• Strong belief in the importance of end-user support as part of a well-rounded engineering role.
• Deep experience in relevant IT systems, including device and identity management.
• Proven ability to automate interactions between IT systems and internal platforms, including API handling.
• Comfort with building scalable backend systems using modern technologies.
• Desire to work collaboratively in a small team of experts focused on efficiency and innovation.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Terraform and Git for system transparency and automation.
• Familiarity with cloud-based environments, particularly MacOS and Linux.
