Staff Engineer - Software Integration and Test (Hybrid)
About the Role
We are seeking a Staff Engineer - Software Integration and Test to join our team at Northrop Grumman. This Staff Engineer remote position will provide you with the opportunity to work on revolutionary systems that impact lives globally. As a part of our team, you'll engage in the integration and testing of complex software components, ensuring that they function seamlessly across various environments.
What You'll Do
- Work in development, lab, and operational environments, ensuring integration and testing are applicable to each setting.
- Perform integration and troubleshooting of software components across multiple networks, interfacing with customer SMEs.
- Facilitate collaboration with software developers, system engineers, and hardware engineers to diagnose and identify root causes of issues.
- Develop and execute software installation, integration, and acceptance test procedures.
- Create and maintain clear and concise technical documentation for future integrations.
- Utilize your knowledge of the full software development life cycle (SDLC) to manage technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
- Submit detailed problem reports for errors found during testing phases.
- Thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations and diverse assignments.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline with 12 years of related engineering experience; or a Master’s degree with 10 years; or a PhD with 4 years.
- Experience with the full software development life cycle (SDLC).
- Proficient in integration and testing of software and hardware components in Unix and Windows environments.
- Ability to execute installation, integration, and acceptance testing.
- Active DoD Top Secret Security Clearance is required.
- Must be able to obtain Security+ certification within 6 months of employment.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Agile methodologies and systems engineering.
- Familiarity with Confluence and JIRA.
- Experience with scripting languages for automation of installation and configuration.
- Excellent communication and technical writing skills.
